Kinds of bets
Moneyline (ML)Just pick who wins. No points, no math — win is a win.
Run Line / SpreadThe favorite has to win by enough (usually 1.5 runs). Like giving the underdog a head start.
Total (Over / Under)Add both teams' runs together. Bet if it lands higher (Over) or lower (Under) than the number.
F5 · First 5Only the first 5 innings count. It's really a bet on the two starting pitchers, before the bullpen shows up.
YRFI / NRFI"Yes/No Run First Inning" — will anybody score in the very first inning?
1H · First HalfBasketball: only the first two quarters count.

CLV / Beat closeDid we grab a better price than where the line ended up? Beating the closing line is how you know a pick was sharp.
Baseball words
xwOBAA pitcher's "how hard is he to hit" score. Lower = nastier arm.
Platoon (vs LHP/RHP)Some hitters crush lefties, some crush righties. We check which hand is pitching today.
🔥 / ❄️ Pitcher formHot = pitching great lately. Cold = getting hit around.
Bullpen gassed / restedThe relief pitchers. Gassed = they threw a lot the last 2 days and are tired (more late runs). Rested = fresh.
Park factorSome ballparks give up lots of runs, some help pitchers. We adjust for it.
WeatherHot air & wind blowing out = more runs. Cold = fewer.
Basketball words
Off / Def RatingPoints scored (or allowed) per 100 tries. Fairer than plain points-per-game.
PaceHow fast a team plays. Faster = more points for everybody, so totals go up.
Track-record words
Units (u)How we count bets. 1 unit = one normal bet. "+5u" means we're up 5 bets.
ROIProfit compared to how much was risked. Higher = better.
PushA tie — you just get your money back.
American odds (+/−)Minus (−150) = how much you bet to win $100. Plus (+130) = how much you win on a $100 bet.
